Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn (born May 12 1972) is an American actress from the United States. She is most well-known for her role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she is a two-time winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She also appeared on the NBC's Whitney (2011–2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 12, 1972. Her mother was executive secretary of the United States Navy, her father was an agent of the Naval Investigative Service. The family resided in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and traveled extensively throughout her childhood. She followed in the footsteps of her father and grandmother by taking classes in architecture, painting and drawing since a young age. She continued to pursue the visual arts, however, she had a growing passion for acting and was exposed to contemporary theater in college. In 1994, she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn began her career in college as an actor, and was inspired by her acting professor. She worked many ancillary positions in the theater industry in D.C. to try to be noticed. The result was some important parts in local theater productions However, she still had to work odd jobs to pay the bills as she landed roles in various short instructional industrial films. In the following years, she was able to find roles in more TV productions, mostly in roles she thought were "very funny, sarcastic and well-informed women", similar to her idol Bea Arthur. These roles were usually cancelled after just one or two seasons. Seehorn was played by Kim Wexler for the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn portrays Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love-interest for Saul Goodman, the aforementioned Jimmy McGill.
