Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie, originally Angelina Jolie Voight (born on the 4th of June, 1975 in Los Angeles, California), is an American actress, director and producer best known for her sexual appeal as in her work for the cause of humanitarian aid. Jolie is the daughter of actor Jon Voight, was raised in New York. After her early years, she moved to Los Angeles, where she was the mental patient in Girl, interrupted (1999). After attending the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for two years, she then attended Beverly Hills High School. Later, she studied drama at New York University. Also, she was an actor in theater productions. In later years, she modelled and appeared in music videos. Jolie met Jonny Lee Miller (1996 divorced, divorced 1999, divorced). It was not well-received, and so were several other films. In 1997, however Jolie received a lot of attention for her role as the wife of Alabama's segregationist governor in the television film George Wallace, and she later received an award called the Golden Globe Award for her portrayal. She played the role of the supermodel struggling with addiction to drugs in the HBO movie Gia in 1999. Her performance was rewarded with many awards, including the Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. She starred with John Cusack in Pushing Tin in 1999. The following year, she married Thornton (divorced in 2003). She was the girlfriend of an armed carjacker (Nicolas Cage) in Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000) and later adopted the British accent and learned street fighting and kickboxing to play the main roles in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). Jolie played Alexander's mother in Oliver Stone's Alexander in 2004 and was also in the film with Jude Law and Gwyneth paltrow in Sky Captain: The World of Tomorrow the thriller about science fiction set in 1930s New York City. Both films were disappointing at the box office, but Jolie's Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) was a success. Jolie played a character pretending to play a normal housewife while she worked on the movie. Brad Pitt became her co-star.
