Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, born August 26, 2002 is a popular American artist and rapper. The release of "Ransom," his 2019 single, has helped him become a popular star. The song was part of his first mixtape "We Love You Tecca" (2019), which reached the top spot on the US Billboard 200. The mixtape also included the singles "Love Me", "Did It Again" and "Did It Again". His debut studio album called"Virgo" (2020), debuted at Number 10 on the Billboard 200. It also featured the Billboard Hot 100-charting singles "Dolly" and "When You Down". The mixtape that he followed up with We Love You Tecca 2 was released in August 2021. It included the songs "Repeat It", "Lot of Me" and others. Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe was the son of Jamaican immigrants. He was born August 26 2002, in Queens, New York City. Sharpe was born in Queens in Springfield Gardens. However, Sharpe eventually moved to Cedarhurst in Long Island. Sharpe was a young man with plans to be a basketball player, however Sharpe shifted his focus on music when he turned 12. Sharpe attended Lawrence High School. Tecca at the age of nine at the time, was rapping along with his classmates with his Xbox to record. They would make diss tracks directed at one another and one was posted to SoundCloud several years ago, but has since been taken down. At first, he didn't have plans to pursue a musical career and he envisioned becoming an NBA superstar. However, as he entered middle school, his interest in basketball faded and started to take the music seriously. His first single to become well-known, "Tectri", was created in collaboration with Lil Gummybear and released in the beginning of 2017. The artist also released "Callin" in the same year, which was one of his first songs. The hit song of his "Ransom," which was first posted to Cole Bennett's Lyrical lemonade YouTube channel on May 22 2019 was the start of Tecca's meteoric rise. The song climbed to number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track has received over 900 million Spotify plays and more than 300 million YouTube views.
