Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30, 1977. Steve Aoki is an American electro house musician as well as record producer, D.J. Music executive. He is the third son of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father was a wrestler who founded the chain of restaurants Benihana. He has two older brothers: Kana (sometimes called Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There he was a player on the varsity badminton team. He was a student at UC Santa Barbara and graduated with two B.A. He earned two bachelor's degrees: one in feminist studies and the one in Sociology. He was a college student who produced records by himself and held underground concerts in his Biko area at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch became a concert venue in the time that the apartment was renamed The Pickle Patch. He also was active in student activities at UCSB and was the founding member of a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League chapter on campus. He had started an independent record label when he was during the 20s. It was named Dim Mak which was named after his idol from childhood Bruce Lee. He dropped I'm IN THE HOUSE, in collaboration with the Zuper Blahq-alter ego of will.i.am. The track peaked at the top of the charts at No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in its debut week. It reached the top 5 on both the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. It was featured on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man.
